Getting Started with Carp Fishing: Some Useful Tips

Comments Off

Carp fishing is a rather enjoyable activity as these fish are pretty smart and aren’t so easily persuaded to take the bait. However, with some cunning, you can lure the fish and fool them into being hooked. The following are just a few useful tips to serve you when carp fishing:-

  • Use boilies based on fishmeal during the summer and autumn, and try your hand with half-half mixtures or even birdfood bait in the finer weather (winter and spring)
  • Add a big quantity of salt to particle baits, particularly the cooked ones such as maize, maple peas and chick peas. Carp enjoy the taste of salty foods. Roughly, mix a single tablespoon of salt to five litres of dry particles. These are also good cheap baits to use!
  • Try adding chillies to particle baits. The carp fish seem to love that fiery sensation from those chillies. As a rough guide, add 2 tablespoons to five litres of particles.
  • Experiment with diverse sizes of pellets or particles in the spod mix. This aids in disorientating the carp, and also gives you the choice to use several sizes of bait.
  • Include high sources of vitamin C into the bait. Mix up your method with orange juice as opposed to water from the lake. You can also try soaking fresh boilies in orange juice so as to to give that well-defined flavour.
  • Whenever possible, make sure not to stick round bait on the hook. So many fishing lines feature rounded bait, you want to be different. Experiment with squaring up the hook bait using small scissors.
  • Lastly, make sure you have the right fishing gear with you. Research what you should bring online. You can find all kinds of things online, such as carp barrows – and ensure you enjoy the time you spend by the river!
