Why Your Website Needs a Resources Page

Comments Off

With the expansion of the internet, it seems like it
has become harder (not easier) to find the information
you are looking for.
Oh, sure, it seems easy enough to go to Bing, and type
in ‘How many toes does an albatross have’? The question
is, will you get the correct answer?
Many times, the answer will be ‘No’. You may have to go
searching about, and confirm via multiple resources how
many toes an albatross has.
But wait, you are expert on the subject of the Albatross?
You say that you majored in Zoology in college? That’s fantastic.
Now, what does your website have to say about that? Nothing.
Okay, well, you at least know of a reliable resource for determining
this information (And, no, I am not talking about Wikipedia.).
You don’t even have a link to that. Look, this is why you
need a resources page for your website. There are thousands
of consumers, researchers, and students searching for this
information on a daily, weekly, hourly basis.
Why not put for the effort to make their lives easier? For
instance, my website has links to all the major tire manufacturers,
catalogs, and specifications for tires within my industry at
http://www.otrtiresupply.com/resources .
Even though I am trying to sell tires, I am attempting to
educate others,as well. That is a smart move, regardless of whether
you are selling tires, or turnips.
Educate the customer. Provide links to industry resources, or things
that you have a hard time finding. In doing so, you will learn, and
your website will grow.
